The image you select here will appear as both your lock screen background and sign in screen background. Microsoft has made windows 10 s login screen more visually pleasing than ever by displaying high resolution images in the background. Select the start button then select settings accounts your info. The directory will pop right up.

You can configure the sign in screen background you want on the lock screen settings page too. Windows keeps these windows 10 lock screen photos buried deep in a hidden directory but with a bit of digging you can find them save them and even use them as desktop wallpaper. 3 copy the png file you want to use as the default account picture into this folder and rename it as user png repeat this process until you have copied and renamed for the other user 32 png user 40 png user 48 png and user 192 png files. However there is one source of images that s trickier to track down known as windows spotlight images. The pictures are of a good enough quality. By default windows 10 stores your wallpaper images in the c windows web directory. Select windows spotlight for an automatically changing selection of images from microsoft or select picture or slideshow to choose your own preferred background image.

You can access this directory very simply by clicking in the search bar in the windows 10 task bar and type c windows web and hitting return. These wallpaper pictures are a set of stunning photos curated via microsoft bing that automatically get downloaded to your windows 10 profile and appear on your screen when your profile is locked.
